Maria and Henry’s Book Tower wedding in downtown Detroit was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and meaningful personal touches. Every detail reflected their story and created a sophisticated celebration that felt uniquely their own. Although Henry isn’t originally from Michigan, he has fully embraced Detroit, including cheering for the Detroit Lions and taking wedding photos in his favorite player’s jersey!

The couple also honored Henry’s Irish heritage by naming each reception table after one of their favorite places in Ireland and beyond. It was such a meaningful and personal detail for their family and friends to enjoy throughout the evening.

Book Tower provided an unforgettable setting for their Detroit wedding. The venue’s iconic teal drapery, historic architecture, and grand interiors created a beautiful backdrop for the entire celebration. Lush floral arrangements and a stunning suspended chandelier installation elevated the space and created a romantic atmosphere from the ceremony through the reception.

As Detroit wedding planners, one of our favorite things about planning weddings at Book Tower is the variety of portrait locations just steps away. Between the historic streets of downtown Detroit, the venue’s elegant interiors, and the signature balcony overlooking the city, there are so many beautiful places for wedding photos without having to travel far.

During the reception, Henry shared the story of his New York City proposal to Maria, which did not go quite according to plan! His heartfelt speech brought plenty of laughter and a few happy tears.

The couple’s adorable corgi also joined the celebration, bringing plenty of personality and getting lots of attention from the guests and from us! We always love when couples include their pets and other personal details in their wedding day. Maria and Henry’s elegant Book Tower wedding was truly one for the books, and our Michigan wedding planning team was so happy to be part of it.
