A northern Michigan wedding in Bay Harbor features a gorgeous and fun-loving couple. The groom plays for Pittsburgh Penguins player Bryan Rust and grew up in metro Detroit. With hockey playing such an important on their lives in relationship we included a few fun surprises for guest! Three things the couple love is their dog Cooper, family, champagne which were designed into the wedding.
The morning of the wedding Kelsey gifted her bridesmaids with an embroidered blush clutch and matching robes.
From the bride Kelsey- One of the most special details on my wedding was before leaving for the church my mom gave me this flower she and my dad had made for my bouquet. The light blue petals made of my Grandpa Chum’s favorite shirt, the center of the flower made of my Poppa Ron’s favorite shirt and my Nana Mona’s broach in the middle.
The moment I was gifted this, I was instantly filled with sadness from missing them and wishing they could be there but it also brought comfort knowing I had them in the palm of my hands during one of the most important and special days of my life.
We incorporated their sweet dog into wedding photos and had a signature drink named after him with custom cocktail napkins.
Kelsey grew up in Canada where hockey was a huge part of her family’s life. Her brothers played hockey since a young age and eventually brought her and Bryan together through mutual friends while living in Pittsburgh They welcomed guest at their hotel with beautiful welcome bags with their custom crest full of goodies. Each bag also has something Canadian and American featuring Michigan mitten cookies and Canadian ketchup chips. Bryan had his own signature drink featuring the Michigan moscow mule with Michigan cherries and a hockey stir stick. Bryan’s hockey number was written in gold on each macaroon and custom hockey towels placed on each seat for their seconded grand entrance
One of my favorite moments from their wedding was their grand entrance on yacht where the couple were able to spend a few moments alone and take in the day. Upon arrival to yacht club they were greeted by all of their guest waiving on the terrace.
Their love for champagne led us to designing a 32 foot champagne/escort custom installment by Violet Rose Floral where guest were greetings with a stemless monogrammed flute with the couples crest.
